Community Christmas 2021

We will be having our 17th Annual Saanichton Community Christmas on December 4th/ 2021.

We are counting on our Community Partners, old and new, to help us bring a little Christmas joy to those less fortunate this time of the year.

 This years festivities included:

* Christmas horse-drawn carriage rides through Saanichton Village, Tally-Ho Carriage Tours.

* Follow the Christmas Tree Trail. Visit each of the local businesses along the trail.

* Photos with Santa and cookie boxes for all the kids.

The SVA, with the continued support of the local businesses of the Saanichton Village, and Seaside Magazine are pleased to bring you this years’ event with some modifications to ensure a COVID-19 compliant event, which will be safe for families to participate in. This will be our 17th consecutive year for the event.

We’re counting on your continued support to cover the costs of the event.  The sponsorship cost this year is 50% less because we’ve received some grant money, so it’s only $75 per business (puts your logo on the Tree Trail Map) and you’ll be included in all media and thank you cards issued to the community. Remaining proceeds will be donated to the Saanich Peninsula Lions Food Bank.

The donation amounts for families to participate will be; $25 for a group of 3, and $50 for a group of 4-6. Tax receipts will be issued for donations. Registration (for contact tracing) will be at the Central Saanich Fire Museum, where we hope to have the Central Saanich Lions handing out FREE hot chocolate and coffee.

Photos with Santa will also be there as families start their morning activities. Kids can tell Santa what they want for Christmas.  After your photo with Santa you will be emailed the photo in a couple of days.

  1. Hi WILLBOND. Much appreciate you pointing that out. Completely overlooked it. Once again thank you and I hope to meet you at the Community Christmas. I will be the one photographing Santa at St. Mary’s Church.

  2. Hello. It looks like all the slots for photos and rides are full. Have you already opened more spots or will there still be more to come? Thank you.

  3. We never had a problem getting photos with santa and carriage ride in past years but there is nothing available to sign up for every time I check. Dare we even go? My kid is going to be very disappointed to not be able to do those things this year. Is there a chance we can be fit in even if we have been unable to sign up?

  4. Hi Karen. Appreciate you contacting us. We are getting more spots open on Monday. Our event has turned out to be even more popular than before and more people than usual are signing up.

  5. Good afternoon,

Did more spots open up today for the Tally-Ho Carriage Rides? I have been checking throughout the day but I do not see any changes. Thank you for your assistance.

  6. It looks like the main event ends at 1 but rides are scheduled in the afternoon. Will the tree walk or any of the other activities be extended
